Murder, mystery, intrigue… and lots of laughing

Grab your Sherlock Holmes deerstalker and prepare for a hilarious evening of sleuthing. It’s time for the Murder Mystery Christmas party.

Test your crime-solving skills over a delicious 3-course dinner with all-inclusive drinks at an exclusive central London hotel — then celebrate your sleuthing success on the dance floor.

There’s a fully-costumed ‘detective’ quizzing ‘the suspects’ between courses. Listen for clues and study the evidence because after dinner, you’ll take a guess at the culprit. Who did it? Why? And how?

As a murder mystery party guest, you can choose to play one of the suspects — so who knows? It could be you!

You’ll have your own private dining room at theDoubleTree by Hilton London – Tower of London. Take advantage of the excellent transport links, or take it easy and book a room at the hotel.

We do require a minimum group size of 15 to book. There are various dining rooms available so your group can be as few as 15, or as large as 180.

What to expect at the Murder Mystery Party in London

As you enjoy a complimentary glass of Prosecco and all-inclusive drinks in a private dining room, our fully-costumed detective enters to break the dramatic news.

There’s been a murder and the killer is sitting at your table. Which one of you is guilty?

Ahead of the party, some of you will have volunteered as suspects. We’ll have already supplied some info — their character, a dastardly motive, an alibi and a plot-twisting secret.

Between courses, our brilliant detective questions the suspects. Listen carefully because there’s a prize if you uncover the culprit. The detective reveals the murderer over coffee.

The all-inclusive drinks are flowing, dinner has been enjoyed and a murder has been solved. Relax and chat in your dining room… or (hey, it’s Christmas!) take to the dance floor.

If you fancy trying your luck at Blackjack or roulette, the casino tables are open, complete with professional croupiers.

"We booked the Sherlock Holmes murder mystery with West End Events and were super happy with it. We had quite a few extra requests and changes which all went ahead smoothly, and both the actors and organizers were super friendly and helpful even on the day. I can't recommend it enough for your Christmas party!"

FAQs

Do you have any questions? We’ve answered some of the most common questions below. If yours isn’t there, don’t worry. Just call us on 020 7183 3821 and we’ll provide the answer.

About the event

What’s the difference between your event and an actor-led murder mystery dinner?

Our murder mystery party is highly interactive. Everyone is involved in the story, even when they’re not playing one of the suspects.

An actor-led murder mystery dinner isn’t usually as interactive. You watch actors perform a murder mystery play but don’t play an active part.

Which group size can you cater for?

There are various dining rooms available so your party can be as few as 15, or as large as 180.

Who plays the suspects? Are they allocated in advance?

The suspects are volunteers from your guest list. They’re allocated 5 or 6 weeks before the event when our casting director will be in touch to talk you through the key suspects and ask about the guests who’ve volunteered to take part. The director will then match each volunteer to a character.

Once the suspects are assigned, we’ll send them a description of their character, and some key snippets of information

If guests don’t fancy being a suspect, that’s fine. There’s plenty of sleuthing fun to be had.

How many suspects are needed?

Ideally, we’d like between 10 and 15 suspects. If that isn’t practical, try and recruit a minimum of 8 people.

Will the suspects have to learn lines and act?

They can if they want to, but it’s not necessary. They’ll need to be aware of the information they’ve been sent — for example, where their character was on a particular date — but it’s fine to have this written down as a reminder.

What do non-suspects do?

Guests who aren’t suspects will be assistant detectives. They’ll examine the clues, ask questions, take notes and work together to solve the mystery.

Is this a shared or exclusive event?

It’s both. Your 3-course dinner and murder mystery entertainment take place in your own private dining room.

The private dining room remains yours all evening — and you can join other guests at the after-party. Celebrate your sleuthing success on the after-party dance floor, and try your luck at the casino tables.

Are drinks included in the price?

Yes.

Your All-Inclusive Standard ticket includes unlimited wine, beer and soft drinks.

Alternatively, you can upgrade to All-Inclusive Plus.  This gives you unlimited wine, beer and soft drinks — plus 6 single spirits (with or without mixers), or glasses of Prosecco.

With all options, all-inclusive drinks are served from 7.30pm until 12.00am (last orders 11.45pm).

Is there a dress code?

No. We want you to have a good time, so you can wear whatever you want — although many of our murder mystery guests love dressing up for this event.

The suspects are welcome to dress up in character. The non-suspects, who are assistant detectives, can be `undercover’ in party clothes — or go full Sherlock Holmes with a deerstalker hat, magnifying glass and classic suit.

The private dining rooms

Is the room ours for the whole evening?

The private dining room is yours for the entire evening. You can stay there until the end of the party. After dinner, you have the option to join other guests in the shared event space for music, dancing and entertainment.

Can we have speeches, award ceremonies etc?

Yes. you can have speeches, award ceremonies, Secret Santa or whatever else you fancy. It’s one of the advantages of having your own private dining room.

Bear in mind that the speeches and so on will need to take place after the murder mystery is solved. If you need timings for the running schedule, please give us a call on 020 7183 3821.

The menu

Will the hotel cater for different dietary requirements?

Yes they will. Once you’ve booked, we’ll send you a function sheet. Use this to let us know the names and dietary requirements of any guests. We’ll inform the chef so that each person is catered for appropriately.

The only exception to this is Kosher food. This cannot be prepared at the hotel. It comes via a separate caterer and incurs an additional charge. Call us on 020 7183 3821 and we’ll talk you through it.

Booking and admin

How much is the deposit? And when is it due?

To secure your booking, we’ll need a non-refunadable deposit of £55 + VAT per guest at the time of booking. The balance will be due 6 weeks (42 days) before the event.

Can I add additional guests later?

We’ll be as flexible as possible. Please let us know about any changes 3 weeks before the event and we’ll do our best to accommodate them. Provided there is availability, we can add to your booking — although please bear in mind, we can’t guarantee this.

If you want to add guests, contact us on 020 7183 3821 or email [email protected]. We’ll let you straight away if there’s availability. If there’s enough space for additional guests, full payment will be required in order to secure the booking.
