You’ll be in your own private dining room — and between courses of a sumptuous 3-course dinner with unlimited drinks, our fully-costumed detective quizzes `the suspects’. Watch out for clues because later, you’ll take a guess at the culprit.
Whodunnit? As a murder mystery Christmas party guest, you can choose to play one of the suspects — so who knows? It could be you!
The action takes place at the Metropole, one of the most famous hotels in Birmingham. There are excellent public transport links, or just stay put and book a room at the hotel.
Some of you will have already volunteered as `suspects’. They’ll be given all the necessary info — their character, a dastardly motive, an alibi and a plot-twisting secret.
Our brilliant detective interviews the suspects between courses. Listen carefully because whoever uncovers the culprit gets a prize. The detective will reveal the murderer over coffee.
The all-inclusive drinks are flowing, dinner has been enjoyed and a murder has been solved. Relax in your private dining room… or join other guests on the dance floor. A live party band is performing some of the most danceable tunes on the planet.
Meanwhile, professional croupiers are presiding over the casino tables, handing out chips and sharing tips on how to play. Or why not visit the glitter bar. Our professional face painters are on hand to add extra sparkle to your evening.

Our venue is the Hilton Birmingham Metropole It’s in a prime location right next to the NEC, just a short walk away from Birmingham International Train Station.

Once you’ve booked, we’ll send you a function sheet so you can let us know about them. If anyone in your party requires Kosher food, please let us know. Having said that, we love it when our guests dress up. Whether you’re playing a suspect, or one of the detectives at the scene of the crime, feel free to dress the part.

Ahead of the event, we’ll ask between 8 and 12 of you to volunteer as `suspects’. We’ll send them a short information sheet with their character, motive, an alibi and a fact which only they know.
If you don’t fancy being a suspect yourself, don’t worry. There’s plenty of sleuthing fun to be had.
It’s both. Your 3-course dinner and murder mystery entertainment takes place in your own private dining room.
After dinner, the private dining room remains yours for the whole evening. You also get the chance to join other guests for dancing and partying in the hotel’s luxurious event space. As well as a live party band, you’ll also find casino tables and a glitter bar with professional face painters.
Yes. Your All-Inclusive Standard ticket includes unlimited wine, beer and soft drinks.
For £30 +VAT per person, you can upgrade to All-Inclusive Plus. This gives you unlimited wine, beer and soft drinks — plus 6 single spirits (with or without mixers), or glasses of Prosecco.
With both options, all-inclusive drinks are served from 8pm until midnight.
There’s no dress code — although many of our murder mystery guests love dressing up for this event.
Before the evening, the volunteer `suspects’ will receive key information about their character, so they can dress for the part if they like.
Detectives can be `undercover’ in party clothes, or you can go full Sherlock Holmes with a deerstalker hat, magnifying glass and classic suit.
Yes they will. Once you’ve booked, we’ll send you a function sheet. Use this to let us know the names and dietary requirements of any guests. We’ll inform the chef so that each person is catered for appropriately.
